A common European grape vine (Vitis Vinifera) that is the chief source of Old World wine and table grape varieties.
What does Vinifera mean to us?
An unpretentious resource for all things wine, where novices and connoisseurs have the opportunity to broaden their wine knowledge, gain a deeper appreciation for wines, taste amazing wines and connect with other like-minded individuals and groups.

Hello there, I'm Nichelle!
Nichelle started her educational journey in Wine in 2019 when she enrolled in the WSET Level 2 Wines & Spirits.
To date, she has received 7 Wine certifications, including the prestigious Wine Scholar Guild Champagne Masters and WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines. She holds the Certified Specialist of Spirits and WSET Level 3 Spirits Award.
She is the 2023 Women of the Vine & Spirits Scholarship Recipient.
Nichelle has worked in Wine Distribution for over four years. She is responsible for introducing many renowned wine brands to Barbados while serving as Senior Brand Manager for the Moët Hennessy portfolio.
Directed regional portfolio management across Latin America and the Caribbean.
In this role, she cultivated strong, collaborative relationships with leading importers and distributors within key regional markets, including Jamaica, Barbados, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and Turks & Caicos.
Nichelle Thompson is the Director of Education at Vinifera and is on the Society of Wine Educators' Board of Directors.
