The company is the largest Black-owned and largest all-women-founded wine company in the United States.
Their Black Girl Magic collection was created for the Essence Music Festival, celebrating Black women, culture and community. The wines are sourced from California vineyards and are intentionally made to be approachable and expressive.

McBride Sisters Pinot Gris
|
Origin: Marlborough, New Zealand
Variety: "Pinot Gris" (PEE-noh Gree) About the wine: The winemaker's philosophy combines premium fruit sourcing with sustainable viticulture and a commitment to producing vibrant, approachable wines that celebrate diversity and innovation. Marlborough's cool maritime climate, abundant sunshine and long growing season allow Pinot Gris to ripen slowly while retaining lively acidity. Free-draining alluvial soils encourage concentrated fruit flavours, while cool night-time temperatures preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. The wine is fermented primarily in stainless steel to capture the purity of fruit and floral aromas while preserving its crisp, refreshing character. SERVED BEST AT: Chilled (8 – 10 °C )
IDEAL PAIRINGS: Ceviche, grilled fish, fresh salads, sushi, grilled chicken, charcuterie, light pasta dishes. WINE PROFILE: Citrus zest, cantaloupe, green apple, fresh stone fruit, vibrant acidity, and a crisp, mineral finish. Recommended if you like: Albariño, Pinot Blanc, Grechetto |
Black Girl Magic Zinfandel
|
Origin: California, USA
Variety: "Zinfandel" (zin-fan-dell) About the wine: A fruit-forward California red that showcases the ripe, luscious character of Zinfandel. California’s warm climate is ideal for this variety, allowing the grapes to fully ripen despite their tendency to ripen unevenly. Oak aging adds another layer of complexity, bringing notes of vanilla and sweet tobacco alongside the ripe fruit flavours. It’s an easygoing, approachable red that’s enjoyable on its own but has enough richness and depth to pair beautifully with a range of dishes. SERVED BEST AT: Cool (15 – 17 °C)
IDEAL PAIRINGS: Burgers, barbecue, pizza, mac and cheese. WINE PROFILE: Intensely aromatic, fresh and jammy plums, fig, dried cherry, black pepper, Madagascar vanilla, cinnamon, sweet tobacco, smooth texture and fruity finish Recommended if you like: Grenache, Montepulciano, juicy red blends. |
McBride Sisters Red Blend
|
Origin: Central Coast, California, USA
Variety: "Merlot" (murr-low), "Cabernet Sauvignon" (kab-er-nay saw-vin-yawn) About the wine: This red blend gets its smooth, easy-drinking style from cool Central Coast weather and high-quality winemaking. The grapes grow in a breezy coastal region; they ripen slowly, keeping a refreshing crispness that prevents the wine from tasting heavy. The winemaker blends 67% Merlot for its plush, juicy character with 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, providing texture, acidity and body. The wine is aged for 18 months in mostly older oak barrels; they soften the wine so it feels silky in your mouth while adding just a hint of vanilla and baking spice. The result is a smooth, dry, and balanced red that pairs easily with food, making it a perfect introduction to California red blends. SERVED BEST AT: Cool (15–17 °C)
IDEAL PAIRINGS: Braised lamb shank, beef stew, grilled steak with mushrooms, roasted chicken. WINE PROFILE: Red cherry, red and black plums, mocha, cedar, vanilla, subtle tobacco; rich, fruit-forward and bold. Recommended if you like: Merlot and red blends |
